Tahira Fida

In this project, I portray the feelings of a young Arab woman who loses her virginity to love. I decided to choose this theme upon reading an article about 15 teenage girls who were found pregnant in one high school in Muscat – This article was the talk of the town.

Today, most young Omani girls are confused and don’t know how to find a balance between modern society, religion and traditional values. The mobile and social technologies that they use allow easy and open communication, however, those who lose their virginity are unable to communicate and often feel ashamed or afraid that the community may learn of their secret and abandon them.

Also, i have made some paintings for the final show. Below are the pictures.
